Paperwork to Diane :  Club form, Roster, Exception forms, Birth Certificates and Fees.  Hospital Certificates will not be accepted

New Jersey Boys Basketball AAU Rules

1.  Any coach or player that is ejected and/or receives 2 technical fouls in a game is suspended for 2 games, the suspension starts immediately, and basketball chairperson must be notified.

 

2.  Coaches are responsible to see that their team meets all eligibility requirements.  If a player is found to be ineligible prior to the start of competition the player will be expelled.  If a player is found ineligible after the competition has started both the player and the team will be expelled from the competition, and the coach is subject to suspension. 

 

3.  Any coach or player suspended twice, in a season, shall be banned from       the state AAU Championships for 2 years.

 

4.  Seeding: Seeding for this year will be based upon last years State results.  The top four teams will be given seeds.  Seeds belong to the organizations, not the players or coaches.  All other teams will be placed into pools by random selection.  The basketball Chair/ Director will conduct the seeding meetings for all age groups.

 

5.  Game forfeit will result if a team has not arrived within 15 min. of the available start time.  If a game is scheduled for 11:15 there will be an 11:31 forfeit.  If previous game runs over 11:15, 15 min. from available start time. 

 

6.  Games will be played under National Federation of State High School rules except where modified: 8-9u 6 min. qtrs, 10-12u 7-min. qtrs., 13-17u 8 min. qtrs.   19u 20 min halfs , undersized ball 28-1/2’. 

 

7.  Coaches and players are prohibited from interacting negatively with the game officials before and after the contest.  Coaches and players must not have any physical contact with the officials.  Interaction – 2 game suspension   Physical Contact – subject to permanent suspension, automatic 2 year suspension, and arrest.

 

8.  The Basketball Chair will resolve any problems that arise during the tournament that are not specifically addressed.

 

9.  A team may have a maximum of three players from an adjoining association.  Players may only participate in one association.

 

10. Grade Confirmation: Players participating under grade eligibility exception must present a birth certificate and confirmation of grade level from the School Administrator.

 

 9u/3rd Grade – 14u/8th Grade each team is allowed a maximum of 3. 

15u/9th Grade – 19u/Senior Boys no limit.

NOTE:  Grade level is determined by the players grade on March 1, 2004.
